About Your Facilitator, Meg Heather Ford:
I have been working in the realm of womxn's health for the past 19 years: initially as a licensed acupuncturist in the UK where I studied and practiced for 8 years establishing a community based acupuncture clinic and centering my private practice on reproductive health. After my own experience of birthing my 2 sons and upon my return to the US, I transitioned towards doula work and in the past 9 years have supported over 300 families in San Francisco and Seattle through their unique experience of birth. As a doula, I have the privilege of supporting births wherever they happen, be it in hospitals, birth centers and homes.
I draw on my training in Chinese medical arts offering acupressure, moxabustion and placenta medicine. I am further trained to provide trauma informed care across the full spectrum of reproductive health from miscarriage, pregnancy loss and abortion to birth, postpartum and menopause.
I feel passionately about supporting community based integrative care - collaborating with other birth professionals offering workshops, ritual gatherings and monthly postpartum integration circles.
In August of 2017 I was inspired by the solar eclipse to design and publish 13 Moons Lunar Diary, a uniquely illustrated yearly planner centering the dark moon and inviting a unique way to engage our experience of time as circular, seasonal and lunar. It is now available in its 3rd edition.
